Lincolnshire Co-op Community Champion

Please vote for our charity to be part of Lincolnshire Co-op Community Champions! This means that if you are a Lincolnshire Co-op member, every time you shop and use your dividend card a donation will be given to your local Community Champion! You are only able to vote if you are a member and have a dividend card. We will be up for a vote in the Willoughby Road community. If this does not appear when you visit the page, please use the map that will appear on the page where you are able to search for Citizens Advice North Lincolnshire.

Being a Lincolnshire Co-op Community Champion would ensure we are able to help more people who seek help from us. It would also enable us to increase awareness of our charitable status. This is because so many people don’t realise that we are a local independent charity and we rely on the support and donations of others to be able to provide our services! The cost of living crisis is impacting so many of us right now, and this especially the case for many of our clients. Thus, we are seeing an increased demand in people needing our support to get by. Your help means we are able to provide for this increase.

Featuring on Givto in May!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be featuring on Givto in May!

Givto is a new way to donate to charity that allows users to give to a different cause each month with one simple Direct Debit. The service was developed by volunteers in Leeds who wanted to support local charities during the pandemic. Following a successful pilot in Yorkshire, Givto is now being rolled out to people nationwide. Givto offers users the chance to support local charities and discover new causes – like ours.

Each month, Givto users are given three causes to choose from. We’ve been selected to feature in May, and we’re so excited to share our cause with a new audience and hopefully raise funds for the increased number of people needing our service.

Givto also feature us in a Directory of all the worthy causes they’ve helped where you can search by cause and location, and you can check our page here: www.givto.org/directory/xxxx

If you’d like to support us this May, sign up to donate with Givto today.

£190 raised at the Ongo Carnival!

On Wednesday 3rd August we attended the Ongo Carnival where we had a stall and a tombola to raise funds and awareness of our charity! We had such a great day in the community. It was amazing to see so many people interacting with other organisations in North Lincolnshire and most importantly, having fun!

From the tombola we raised £190! This couldn't have been achieved without the help of organisations donating prizes to us. This includes, Boots, Tesco, The Works, Holland & Barrett, and Spar. A massive thank you to those!

And of course, a massive thank you to everyone who came to our stall and played the tombola! We greatly appreciate all the help we receive with our fundraising efforts. The support means that more people become aware of our charitable status and in turn, the donations enable us to continue providing our service and help those in need of our advice.

North Lincs Healthy Workplace Award

We are very proud to have received an award from the North Lincolnshire Healthy Workplace Scheme! We attended the ceremony on the 25th May where our Operations Manager, Debra Taylor, gratefully accepted the award. We received this due to the efforts and commitment of our organisation to provide a healthy work environment and improve overall health and wellbeing of our staff.

We believe this to be very important which is why we wanted to get involved with the scheme. Next, we go for silver!

The energy price cap is increasing

From April 1st the energy price cap is increasing. This means that from April around 5 million people won’t be able to afford their energy bills. This is set to rise to 14 million by October meaning that 1 in 4 people will struggle.

Our advisers can help you if you are struggling to pay your energy bills or you just want better deals on energy. We can also give you advice on the most appropriate payment methods and information on how to access help from energy suppliers and the Government.

Get support and advice by contacting us on 01724 870941. The line is open between 10am and 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Skydiving for Citizens Advice North Lincs

On Saturday 19th March we had two people put themselves up for the challenge of skydiving and raising funds for us!

On Saturday 19th March we had two people put themselves up for the challenge of skydiving and raising funds for us! The very brave girls came together to jump 15,000ft out of the aircraft, free falling for around a minute, at a speed of 120mph! And they loved it!

The girls safely made it back to the ground with an amazing £700 raised for our charity!

We would like to say a massive thank you to the girls for putting themselves forward to do such a big challenge in aid of our charity and raising the funds. And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who came to support, and donated to the skydive!

Do you think you could put yourself up for the challenge?
